Following intense flushing of the distribution system, bacteriological samples were collected and analyzed by the City of Florence. The results of this sampling indicate that the system is safe to use for drinking and cooking purposes. Attention: The City of Florence is issuing a Boil Water Advisory for Florence water customers located in Pine Forest, Olde Mill, and Parkwood Subdivisions. Water service has been disrupted for customers due to a contractor damaging a water main in the area. Utility crews are on site to make necessary repairs. The Boil Water Advisory will be in effect when water service is restored for these residents. City of Florence water staff advises these water customers to boil their tap water vigorously for one minute prior to using it for drinking or cooking. City Utility crews are on site working to valve off and isolate the leak so that necessary repairs can be made. Every effort is being made to restore water service as quickly as possible.
