City Council Reaffirms Support for Florence Regional Airport Funding

FLORENCE, SC – The Florence City Council is reaffirming its strong support for continued investment in the Florence Regional Airport, recognizing the airport as a vital asset to the community, a driver of economic development, and an essential component to the region’s infrastructure.
To demonstrate that commitment, City Council will hold special meetings to consider allocating funding to support airport operations and future needs through an amendment to the FY 2026-27 budget. First reading of the budget amendment ordinance will take place on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with second and final reading scheduled for Monday, June 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Both meetings will be held in City Council Chambers, located at 324 West Evans Street, Florence, South Carolina. City Council recognizes the airport’s importance to Florence’s long-term economic vitality and is committed to ensuring it continues to serve as a strong regional asset.
The Florence Regional Airport serves as an important gateway to the community, providing access for business, travel, and regional connectivity.
