FLORENCE, SC – The City of Florence will hold its annual Arbor Day Observance on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 10:00 am at Dr. Iola Jones Park located at 608 E. Maxwell Street.
At the November City Council Meeting, City Council approved a resolution proclaiming December 5, 2025, as Arbor Day in the City of Florence. Recognizing the value of the city’s urban forest to our community, the City of Florence meets the necessary criteria to achieve the designation of Tree City USA and has been a recipient of this honor from the Arbor Day Foundation for 45 consecutive years.
The ceremony will feature music from North Vista Elementary School and a planting ceremony led by the Parks & Beautification Commission in partnership with the FMU Environmental Science & Studies Club. The funding for this year’s tree is being provided by Duke Energy.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend this celebration of Florence’s long-standing dedication to environmental stewardship and community beautification.
