FLORENCE, SC – The City of Florence Veterans Park Committee is proud to announce the 17th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 11:00 AM. The event will be held at Florence Veterans Park, 601 Woody Jones Blvd., Florence, SC, 29501. This ceremony is free and open to the public.
Attendees are invited to enjoy a live performance by the Wilson High School Chorus, starting at 10:40 AM. The ceremony will begin at 11:00 AM and is expected to last approximately 45–50 minutes, featuring a special guest keynote speaker.
The program will include a dedication of the amphitheater to Barringer F. Wingard Jr., Col (R) USA, along with the addition of 10 names of Pee Dee area veterans to the Wall of Honor. The Wilson High School USAF JROTC will present the color guard, and the Veterans Honor Guard will perform a rifle volley and Taps to pay tribute to our honored service members.
City Manager Scotty Davis commended the committee, stating, “Each year, this ceremony reminds us of the deep gratitude we owe to the men and women who have served our nation. This year’s dedication of the amphitheater to the late Barringer Barry Wingard makes the occasion especially meaningful, as we honor not only our veterans but also a man whose leadership and commitment helped make Florence Veterans Park what it is today.”
The public is invited to attend and help us honor our veterans. Seating is limited, so attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs.
