FLORENCE, SC – A significant portion of the failed sewer main beneath Hoffmeyer Road between Five Points and Evans Street has been repaired. As a result, the bypass pump located in the median is being shut down and is scheduled for removal by the first of next week.
Paving crews will be working today and tomorrow to patch and repair the section of Hoffmeyer Road affected by the sewer repairs. The two lanes adjacent to Moe’s are expected to remain closed until midday Thursday to allow for completion of the asphalt repairs. All other portions of the roadway will remain open to traffic.
Motorists are encouraged to avoid this section of Hoffmeyer Road, if possible, until all repairs are complete and the lanes have reopened. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding as contractors work to complete these necessary repairs.
Contractors will continue assessing the condition of the sewer main and identifying any remaining sections in need of repair. Additional updates will be provided as work progresses.
