FLORENCE, SC –   The City of Florence is actively preparing for the expected inclement weather and extreme cold temperatures this weekend. Due to the potential for hazardous road conditions, city offices will be closed on Monday, February 2, 2026.  Police, Fire, Public Works, and Utilities personnel will remain available to respond as needed.

Residents and businesses with questions regarding Public Works or water and sewer services should call 843-665-3236. For non-emergency matters, please contact the Police Department at 843-665-3191. In case of an emergency, dial 9-1-1.

Please note that city social media accounts are not monitored 24/7; use the phone numbers above for assistance.

The city urges all residents and business owners to take precautions ahead of the extreme weather. Be sure to protect water pipes, secure your property, and use safe heating methods to prevent fires or injuries. Additionally, residents are encouraged to check on vulnerable neighbors, especially the elderly or disabled, during the colder days ahead.

Residential and commercial garbage collection services will not run on Monday, February 2, 2026.  Following a Tuesday morning assessment of road conditions, a decision regarding that day’s service will be made and announced to ensure the safety of our Sanitation Division personnel.

Due to the potential for hazardous road conditions, the Florence Police Department strongly advises limiting travel unless absolutely necessary, particularly from Saturday, January 31st through Monday, February 2nd.
