City of Florence Seeks Community Input for 2026 Comprehensive Plan Update

FLORENCE, SC – The City of Florence is inviting residents, business owners, and community stakeholders to help shape the future of Florence by participating in the City's 2026 Comprehensive Plan Update.

The Comprehensive Plan serves as a long-term guide for the City's growth and development over the next 10 to 15 years. Through this update to the City's 2023 Comprehensive Plan, Florence seeks to ensure its goals and recommendations continue to reflect the community's evolving needs, priorities, and vision for the future. Community input will play an important role in shaping the plan's goals and recommendations.

To provide opportunities for community engagement, the City will host two public open houses at the following times:

Wednesday, November 4, 2026
5:00 – 6:30 PM
Carolina Theater

Public Open House 2

Thursday, November 5, 2026
8:30 – 10:00 AM
Carolina Theater
129 South Dargan Street        

In addition to the public open houses, the City will offer an online community survey from November 4 through December 4, 2026, providing another opportunity for community members to share their feedback.

The City of Florence encourages all residents and community stakeholders to attend and take part in this important initiative. Community input today will help shape Florence's future for years to come.
